The repatriation program allows you to obtain Romanian citizenship without the need to invest or reside in the country either before or after receiving your passport. The procedure consists of several stages, at each of which we take on most of the tasks, including preparing documents, submitting applications, and actively interacting with government agencies to make the entire process convenient and simple for the client.
The company's lawyers conduct a detailed analysis and determine whether you are eligible to participate in the program. Even if you are not sure about your ancestry, you should not refuse in advance - half of our clients found out about their right to citizenship only after the initial verification. We do more than just consult - we research your family tree. The consultation and initial verification are completely free of charge.
At this stage, our specialists take care of all the work of collecting and processing documents. Even if part of the proof of kinship is missing, we independently initiate inquiries to state and archival institutions, restore the necessary records and obtain official certificates. All documents are prepared in strict compliance with Romanian legislation. The client is only required to provide a passport and basic personal data, we take care of the rest of the process.
The finalized dossier is sent to the National Directorate of Citizenship. You can submit the documents either through the consulate or on the territory of Romania. We prepare you in advance and accompany you during the visit to the state body to ensure full compliance with all legal regulations.
It takes an average of 6-14 months to process a case. We track the status of the file by number and inform you as soon as the official order granting citizenship is issued. After that you have to take an oath within six months on the territory of Romania. During the ceremony, you recite the oath in Romanian and receive a temporary certificate of citizenship and a citizenship card.
After the oath ceremony, you will be entitled to apply for a Romanian passport. This can be done either in Romania or through the consulate in your place of residence. In order to obtain it, you need to submit a citizen's card, biometric data and pay a state fee of 50 EUR. Since March 2025, Romania has introduced modern electronic identity cards of the new CEI generation, which gradually replace traditional ID cards.
